Every semester in school seems the same to me. I start out enthused, motivated, and excited about the courses I’m taking. For about the first month, I wake up early, go to class, do my homework & my readings. But then eventually I lose my focus, underestimate how much work needs to be done, and start putting it off. I spend a lot more time going out with my friends and give in to other distractions. I start sleeping in, missing classes, and just not feeling motivated or interested in my studies. Then, towards the end of the semester, I try to make a comeback and put in enough effort to make up for the whole thing, but its usually too late and I can never get everything done in time. The result is that I end up repeatedly unhappy with my performance and I never feel like I’ve done myself justice or that my grades represent my potential.

I’m writing this post because I have already started procrastinating again this semester, and the past 2 weeks have been less than productive. I want this year to be different though… Its not yet too late in the semester for me to rearrange my priorities and get motivated again. Spring break is next week and since I’m not going anywhere or really doing much of anything (sigh…), it would be a great time to get caught up on some of the readings I’ve missed and get my assignments done.

Just a quick note to say merry Christmas! I’m actually typing this on my new kindle fire and just wanted an excuse to post something :)

Sometimes … (usually right around finals or when i have something major to do for school) … I think to myself that I would be just fine with a mediocre life, a mediocre apartment and a mediocre job. Just give me a computer with high speed internet access, a decent place to live, a cell phone, and enough disposable income to take maybe one nice vacation per year. I could live and be very happy with that. 

Basically what I’m saying is school is being a royal fucking bitch right now and i just want to watch youtube videos and look at imgfave all day every day. 

Anyways, back to the books :S …
